Finally got around to buying this EP, and very pleased I did. Love Karen Peris’s artwork and have this cover framed alongside some others. Really like all the songs, and it’s particularly good to hear the intimate reworking of Snow. These are songs that perfectly convey the beauty, joy and also sadness of winter (and life). I find their songs so tender, intimate and spiritual. The Innocence Mission have become my favourite band over the years. kevdrum
this is one of maybe 2 albums that legitimately scared me the first time I heard it. since 2018, and especially this past year, nicole has become one of my favorite songwriters and storytellers in general. she pulls no punches but the songs never feel unnecessarily brutal, even "in the land" which is one of several she's written based on real deaths. she is simply placing the darkest, grimiest corners of americana on display, forcing you to confront them, and she does it perfectly big suit david byrne
The Icelandic songwriter packs her stunning debut with sweeping melodies delivered via intimate, folky arrangements. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 12, 2023
